    2. I don't suppose you have a Charlie T. Smith in this line. I believe he had a brother named Marshall and he was living in the Selma area in the 1900s. His wife was Lillie Mae Faulkner, their daughter, Ola Mae was my grandmother. Have not done much research on this line yet. Seeing as I have done a lot with the last names White and Williams, Smith seems a rather daunting task. I thought perhaps this would connect to your line in some way. Thanks Angela White Ang1Mike2@aol.com -----Original Message----- From: Tdsherron@cs.com To: NCWAYNE-L@rootsweb.com Sent: Wed, 14 Dec 2005 15:46:06 EST Subject: [NCWAYNE] John Smith Sr. Looking for anyone working on John Smith Sr. and his wife Patience last name unknown. 3. Has Wayne County posted any of their records to their website such as marriages, wills and probates, land records, etc.? If so, can someone tell me how to access them? I am searching for Richard Martin who died in Wayne County befoe 29 May 1786. From his first marriage to unknown wife he had four children...Lydia [born 1750] who married Jacob Flowers, Mary [born 1752] who married [Jesse?]Pipkin, Aaron [born 1755],name of wife unknown, and Elizabeth "Bettie," [born 1760], married Nicholas Powell ca 1785 in Wayne County, NC. The second marriage was to Franky [Martin?] about 1783. From this marriage there were three children: Richard, born 1784; Bitha born 1785, and Sarah born 1786 and who married Samuel Flowers. Names of the spouses for Richard, Jr., and Bitha are unknown. I am still searching for the Revolutionary War record for this Richard Martin. A descendant of Elizabeth Martin Powell, living in Arkansas, reported that he had served during that conflict as did a descendant of Sarah Martin Flowers, with the descendant having being reared in Wayne County. Any help with this brick wall will be very much appareciated. Please contact me at <almb@sw.rr.com>. Thanks for your assistance and advise. MBM

This is not all though. As I said this marriage register came from Greene Co. records and the registry states in the column that says "place of marrige" as Nahunta. Now I have seen this happen in other records that I have searched. On one occasion the minister, had the parents switched, grooms parents were reported as the brides parents and vice verus. The marriage bond date in your case Nov. 19, and the marriage date Nov 29 was problem either copied wrong or the ministers were well noted for sending their records in late and recorded them wrong. 1. Teacher (Teachie) and Rose marriage
    2. Angie Rhodes
    3. I am looking for information on Joseph Teacher or Teachie that married Mary Rose in Nov. 1900. I have a copy of a marriage register that came from Greene Co. but a lot of it doesn't make sense. It list Joseph Teacher (or Teachie) age 37 and Mary Rose age 41 as bride and groom. In the column that says "date of issue" it has the date Nov. 29, 1900. In the column that says "date of marriage" it has Nov. 19, 1900. This is weird because itseems as though they had the ceremony before they got the license. This is not all though. As I said this marriage register came from Greene Co. records and the registry states in the column that says "place of marrige" as Nahunta. Now I think Nahunta was in Wayne Co. What's up? Are these just mistakes or did people have the ceremony before the license? Could they get a license from a different county than they were married in? Also they are on the registry but a copy of the actual licence cannot be found. Other information on the license list W! . A. Martin J.P. as performing the ceremony and R. Outland and Tho. Artis as witnesses. I have know more info on Joseph Teacher (or Teachie) but do know Mary was Mary Carraway who married and had a family with James Rose in Wayne Co. Mary and James would have been my gg-grandparents. Other than knowing some of their children I don't really have anything else. If anyone has any leads such as death certificates, marriage license, burial, places deeds, wills, or anything I would appreciate the help. Or if you can explain this marriage registry. I may be contacted directly at angela@cocentral.com Thanks, Chris
