    1. Looking for my 2nd great grandmother's family
    2. In 1857 James R. Parker sold his farm at Walnut Creek to a Mr. Thompson, and moved to his new home four miles West of Mt. Olive, N.C. early in 1858. He purchased 1,766 acres of land from George L. Kornegay, who was the son of Daniel Kornegay. The farm was known as Mulberry Plantation and was situated on the West side of Thunder Swamp, Wayne County, NC. Does anyone have any ideas who Charity E. Stevens' parents and siblings were? She married James Richard Parker March 27, 1827, Wayne Co., NC. Charity died December 7, 1864. They are buried on the homestead there at Thunder Swamp. The only Stevens name I see mentioned is N.B. Stevens [Needham B. Stevens] But for some reason I can't connect her to him. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated. June _cpzb4@aol.com_ (mailto:cpzb4@aol.com)

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/wUB.2ACE/789 Message Board Post: Greetings! I am seeking some assistance for a project on which I am working. I am looking for photographs of Confederate veteran reunions that took place all across North Carolina during the latter part of the nineteenth century and the first half of the twentieth century. These reunions took place on the local, state, and national level until the last veterans died in the 1950s. I am also looking for images of veterans in their uniforms or with their reunion medals and ribbons, or historic photographs of Confederate monuments in North Carolina, or monument dedications. The photographs will be used in an upcoming book to be published this year by Arcadia Publishers of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina. I am seeking copies of these photographs, either photographic reproductions or scans (at 300 dpi), and I am willing to pay for reproduction of these images. Thank you for your time, and I look forward to hearing from you. Regards, Michael C. Hardy PO Box 393 Crossnore, NC 28616 www.michaelchardy.com
