    1. [NCWAYNE] Need someone to make copies
    2. Ted Gurley
    3. Greetings Wayne Co. - I need some help, last weekend I spent over seven hours in the Wanye Co. library trying to get some time on the microfilm copier to make copies of obits and marriages from the "Headlight". It was real frustrating. One fellow was at the lone microfilm copy-machine both Friday and Saturday using it to read page by page the census films. I asked several times for 15 or 20 minutes of time, explaining that I was from Dallas and did not know when I could come back. If there is anyone in Wayne Co. that would be willing to try to get a few minutes on the microfilm copier, I will pay for the copying and $20 per hour for your time. I have all the dates and names I need and will gladly send them to you. Thanks, Ted

    1. [NCWAYNE] Hardy Rose - Wayne Co., NC
    2. Angela Rhodes
    3. Searching for information on Hardy Rose. Hardy was probably a resident of Wayne Co. in mid-1800s. Hardy had children Archie Rose, Haywood, Pauline, Lucy, and Minnie Ruth who married Ed Howell. Siblings of Hardy Rose would be Nannie (Nan or Ann), Bushion, and John Wright. I would love to find the parents and ancestors of Hardy. Any and all information greatly appreciated. You may contact me directly at [email protected] Thanks, Chris Rhodes

    1. Re: [NCWAYNE] Stantonsburg Cemetery Survey
    2. I would very much like to exchange information with David E. Casey. I am researching the family of Jeremiah Casey, Wayne County, who was in Wayne County until about 1796. He lived south of the Neuse River near a Micajah Casey, who might have been his brother. Micajah's descendants are still in Wayne County in the Cliffs of Neuse State Park. There is a group of 4 Casey Researchers that are desperately trying to trace Jeremiah back to his parents. A reply would be greatly appreciated as we have hit a brick wall. I enjoy receiving rootsweb mail and I try to follow up any leads I find. Billie Casey Brundage [email protected]

    3. For those interested, I ordered my copy of Watson's KINFOLKS OF WAYNE COUNTY from The Reprint Co., Publishers, PO Box 5401, Spartanburg, SC 29304. This was in 1995 and the cost at that time was $25.00. It took about six weeks, as I recall, for them to send it. The surnames I'm researching from Wayne Co. are Herring, Ivey, Grady/Graddy. Ichabod Herring was in Haywood County in my Zion Church minutes in the 1830's. March, 1858 there is noted that Charity A. Herring died that date. Was this Ichabod's mother? It was not his child I know. Ichabod married Nancy Ivey, by gr.gr.grandparents. Reese Reese J. Moses-S. [email protected] 2428 Upper Zion Rd Brownsville, Haywood Co. 2. Where can I find a copy of Watson's book? I am researching Caseys and there were at least 2, Micajah and Jeremiah in Wayne County from 1763. Micajah stayed in Wayne County. Jeremiah moved on to Richmond County about 1796. Watson's book might have new information for my Casey Research Group. Billie Casey Brundage, [email protected]

    3. In deed book 13, page 345, the second deed on the page: URIAH PEACOCK deed to ENOS HOLLAND for part of a tract of land formerly patented by JOHN HOLLAND on Sept. 15, 1785, this July 30, 1821. This is an abstract copied from the book, KINFOLKS OF WAYNE COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA, 1793-1832, by Joseph W. Watson. Hope this helps you. There were many Hollands listed in this index but only one Enos. Reese Reese J. Moses-S. [email protected] 2428 Upper Zion Rd Brownsville, Haywood Co.
