    3. Thanks for the information. By the way Duplin Co. is the correct name of the county in N.C. One of my ancestors was from Duplin Co. named John Denmark (later may be of Wayne Co.). He married a Mary (Polly) Hall of Duplin Co. They had a son named Joseph Dixon (have seen it as Dickson) Denmark( of Wayne Co.). Supposedly this son was named for the best friend of his father, John. Family lore and maybe records show that he was in the service in the 1812 period and that his best friend and bunk mate was a Joseph Dickson, for whom he named his son. Do you know any other information on your Joseph Dickson, Jr. born 1785 as my John Denmark was born ca. 1780? ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, October 25, 2001 11:40 PM Subject: Re: [NCWAYNE] Peacock > In a message dated 10/22/01 9:33:46 PM Eastern Daylight Time, > [email protected] writes: > > << Do you have any information on William Hall or Joseph Dickson? 2. Ray, I'm sending copies on this, so others will see it on the Wayne Co List... I have no known (at this time!) to the 2 HOWELL sisters, but I have seen those given in records..... Your tracking of ROBERT PEACOCK b Wayne Co, moving to Twiggs Co, then Houston Co & then Lowndes Co, GA is very interesting - as there are HOWELLs also in Houston Co, GA - not any connection again to mine that is known, but I do know of a lady down there (this is middle GA) an Addie Howell who did research on HOWELLs - my sis has talked to her in the past & we had no knowledge at that time of a connection to hers. Then on the Lowndes Co, Ga connection - there are so many HOWELLs there... I was told by one that all the HOWELLs in that area were connected but just how was unknown....Very frustrating! I've even met a son of a HOWELL (mar a FOX) from Lowndes Co, GA & this son's nickname is "Bucky" - my Dad's name was HARRY LEE HOWELL, but was known all his life as "Buck"! So many "almosts" & just so many confusing HOWELLs! Thanks for your questions, tho - it's always good to have to consider & reconsider! I'll go check out that source site & thanks again! 3. Thanks Steve, This sure looks like a good chance it could be the Elizabeth that married my 4 GGrandfather, Jesse Peacock. Searched Dickson Co., TN sites for the Joseph Dickson will, but haven't found it yet. - Ray ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, October 20, 2001 9:19 PM Subject: Re: [NCWAYNE] Peacock > Ray, > Duplin borders Wayne in a North South Direction. 2. Ray, Duplin borders Wayne in a North South Direction. The Moulton lived about 11 miles n. e. of Kenansville, NC. Abraham Moulton had a daughter named Elizabeth. He also had a daughter named Patience. Son in laws mentioned in will are William Hall (known to be of Duplin); Joseph Dickson (known to be of Duplin, later went to what became Dickson County, TN and died there), and Jesse Peacock. No idea what happened to Jesse. He is mentioned in a number of Duplin deeds. The will of Joseph Dickson's and his wife, I believe can be found on the internet under Dickson County, TN. Will see what I can do about getting the will of Abraham Moulton. Steve

    3. Hello Steve, This could be something. Dates are right. Jesse Peacock lived c1847-c1804, and Elizabeth c1760-c1820. Do I remember correctly that Duplin Co. borders Wayne Co.? Do you know if this will is online, or how I could get to see a copy? Thanks, Ray ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, October 19, 2001 4:27 PM Subject: Re: [NCWAYNE] Peacock > > Don't know if this fits, but one Abraham Molton/Moulton left will in Duplin > Co, NC, dated 23 Nov 1784. 3. Hi Sarah, Are you connected to the two sister Howells that were married to Robert Peacock. Robert Peacock (1792-1861) married first Wealthy Howell (1794-1832) in 1813, and they had 10 children. After Wealthy died, he married her sister, America Howell (1814-1885) about 1833, and they had 10 more kids. The Howell girls were daughters of Benjamin Howell and America Ballard. I show Robert born in Wayne Co., NC and moving to Twiggs Co, then HoustonCo, then Loundes Co.,Ga, then returning to Wayne,NC, and dying in Brooks, GA. Source http://www.wf.net/~jyates/html/fam00065.htm and LDS familysearch.com. Robert was one of the many children of Simon Peacock and Zilpha Pittman, Wayne Co., NC, son of John Peacock and Patience Ann Raiford, Wayne Co., NC, - Ray ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, October 19, 2001 11:52 AM Subject: [NCWAYNE] Re: NCWAYNE-D Digest V01 #47/HOWELLs > Guy, > I'm late responding to the request for replying to the msg about getting > messages - was out of town but I do keep an eye on this mail list on Wayne > Co, NC! > > For Carolyn Bakker & Joyce Helmers: > > I also have HOWELLs (my maiden name!) 3. Glad to help - I've sure received a lot of help from others. Meanwhile, can anyone help me with the maiden name of Elizabeth, wife of Jesse Peacock, son of John and Patience (Raiford) Peacock. Also, Lefa, the wife of Jesse's son Wiley. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Rose Parks" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, October 19, 2001 2:33 PM Subject: Re: [NCWAYNE] Benajah Peacock > Thanks. Thanks Thanks. 3. Thanks. Thanks Thanks. Ray, At least I now have some Georgia counties to look in. I found that on Benajah on ancestry.com and did have John Yates name attached with an e-mail address but so far I have not heard from him. I wonder if the William R. stands for Railford??? Haven't seen it except in that 1850 census. I will check the web site in the event something else will help. Thanks again, I hoped some of the Rootsweb listers would have some information. Rose
