Thank you again Ed for all your help. You have provided so much info and I appreciate it. Bettie's name was formerly Lulu Bell according to her granddaughter. (I did find records for her after I found that out.) Bettie changed it because she did not like it. I also saw the same thing with my father. We had always ask if my dad had a middle name and was told no. But in the records I found "Doctor" to be his first name. But, after he reach 18, the records showed he had dropped this first name. So, even back then children did their own thing if they had a mind to. :o) As far as Judy Caroline Hodges, I am wondering if Mary "Polly" daughter of Phoebe is the Mother of Judy. Thank you again.
