    2. Jamie, you mentioned Teddy Roosevelt, well here is some trivia for you. Recently in Lenoir, Caldwell County, NC, there was an article about Teddy's granddaughter, Theodora Roosevelt Rauchfuss. Seems she has been living here in the Happy Valley area and no one knew it but a very few. She passed away and her attorney came forward with the news about her death. Here is the link if you want to read about it. http://newstopic.net/articles/2008/01/13/news/58connect.txt Loretta -------------- Original message from Jamie Hald <jamie@rockaz.com>: -------------- > > > > Here's something new! > > Below is the web site and notes I took for Henry Clay Green. 1. [NCWATAUG] Teddy Roosevelt Trivia
    2. Carolyn Curtis
    3. More Teddy Roosevelt trivia. My husband's grandfather served as a White House guard from 1902 until his death in 1917. He served under Presidents T. Roosevelt, Taft and Wilson. We recently came into possession of a flag which was given to him by President Roosevelt. The flag is 100+ years old and is from the 4th Presidential Yacht, The USS Mayflower. It is stamped "The Mayflower" on the binding. We also have a book which belonged to President Roosevelt. Just before I read the posting yesterday re: Teddy Roosevelt, I was searching the internet for pictures of Teddy Roosevelt with White House guards. I was lucky and found one which includes my husband's grandfather! He was originally from McDowell County, NC. 3. My mom's family originates from Holland; migrated to New Amsterdam as well as the Roosevelts. They are VERY distantly related. Just hope there are no more similarities between Mom and Dad's families! ;-) On Jan 21, 2008, at 6:19 AM, teachword@bellsouth.net wrote: > Jamie, you mentioned Teddy Roosevelt, well here is some trivia for > you.
