    3. My great-great grandfather was John & Nellie Oxford Winebarger's youngest son - De Marcus "Mark" Winebarger. His name was listed erroneously in a birth record for one of his children as "Denmark" so that is how that name has came about in people's files. I was told recently that William Winebarger donated the land for the Winebarger School and the Mount Pleasant Lutheran Church. William was a son of Hosea Winebarger, grandson of Jacob Winebarger & great-grandson of John Winebarger. Is that true or do you have the name(s) of those who did donate the land for that school and church? I would love to see your file and appreciate you sharing. I am pulling my Winebarger family history together for family members a lot of whom still live in Watauga Co., NC. Can't wait to hear from you again! Sherry Winebarger-Reeter Abingdon, VA -----Original Message----- From: ncwataug-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:ncwataug-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Katherine Chester Sent: Thursday, January 10, 2008 4:12 PM To: ncwataug@rootsweb.com Subject: [NCWATAUG] Winebarger information My inlaws are descended from John Winebarger who was the Festler boy adopted by Cunrod Winebarger. As far as the family knows their is no documentation of the adoption. We have a Marcus Denmark Winebarger as the youngest son, with the same info as the previously mentioned De Marcus Winebarger. This family did not donate the land for the Winebarger school to the best of anyones knowledge. They did operate the Winebarger Mill in the Meat Camp community. His son, Jacob's family were charter members of the Mt. Zion Luthern Church which was organized in 1896 in the Meat Camp community. I do have a large file on this family and will be happy to share any information that may help someone out. 3. Yes, that is the same Hosea & Martha Ann Miller. Do you know anything about the Winebarger who donated the land for Winebarger School or Old Mount Pleasant Church? 3. What would be the easiest way to send you the info? I have it stored in gedcom and paf formats. I can also transfer it to word if that would be easier. Just let me know. Unfortunately I do not have the name(s) of those who donated the land for that school and church. My mother-in-law asked her uncle and he said he had never heard of either. Only about the adoption and the mill in Meat Camp. The Winebargers are actually my husbands family and they are from the Gamewell area of Caldwell Co. , but descend from Ebenzer Winebarger from Watauga Co. Almost all the lines to my side of the family are from Watauga Co also. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mark & Sherry Reeter" <m-sreeter@embarqmail.com> To: <ncwataug@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, January 10, 2008 5:25 PM Subject: Re: [NCWATAUG] Winebarger information > My great-great grandfather was John & Nellie Oxford Winebarger's youngest > son - De Marcus "Mark" Winebarger. 3. Thank you to everyone in this group who helped me with my research over the past 2 1/2 years for my Winebarger-Oxford- Miller-Holman-Blackburn-Moretz and Ford (Thomas Floyd Ford family of Ashe Co.)-McDaniel-Curry families of Watauga Co., NC! I created a "freebie" website for my relatives since everyone is cast about the country which includes several picture albums with more photos to be added next month. I hope to place a draft of our family history on the website for everyone's review/input by early February. Visit http://winebarger-fordhistorylegacy.tripod.com/index.html to see my developing web site (turn off your pop-up blocker software if you have it before visiting the website for a quicker download). There are six separate page links on the left side of the home page. Any information you can provide on the adoption of John Festler Winebarger by Cunrod Winebarger's family, Winebarger School, Old Mount Pleasant Lutheran Church, Zionville School or Miller School along with old pictures would be greatly appreciated! Again, thank you so very much for your help! Sherry Winebarger-Reeter Abingdon, VA m-sreeter@embarqmail.com
