As I am searching for information on my Farthing family I ran in to ole Hiram!!! (son of Brazilla McBride and Rachel Wilson) In the 1850 Census of the 4th Civil District, Johnson County, Tennessee he is listed (no wonder I couldn't find him in North Carolina!). He is married to Mary H. Farthing, with children Nancy (4), Polly(3) and William(1). My question is.... there is a James H. Farthing (14) who is living in the same household. This doesn't seem to be a brother of Mary, as none of her siblings were born that late, nor does it seem to be a 1st cousin, as I have no record (that doesn't mean that it can't be so). Hiram is listed as being born in North Carolina, he is occupied with farming, and has $800 worth of property. Any help that you could give me would be appreciated....
