seeking any stories of people living on Laurel Creek area. our great grandfather Richard Crawley and his wife and children lived there, and all but two daughters died from something going around there, and his wife Melissa Halliburton Crawley died from child birth, from grandmothers writings she did. Richard, left the two daughters with a family,(Mast) in Watauga, and came to Kansas then sent for the two daughters. grandmother Lula, said on her SS papers she says she was born in Elk Park, Boone CO. NC, he married a woman from Watauga.named Sarah E. James (maiden name) He owned land on Laurel Creek when he died in Kansas at the age of 49 in 1899, never have found out what happened to it. Lena
