My great-uncle Dale Byrd of Washington state passed away April 26, 2002 in Okanogan, WA. Dale was born in Watauga County in 1911 and moved to the state of Washington in 1930. He was the youngest son (he had a younger sister Margie) of George W. Byrd and Mary (Alice) Townsend. He was married to Helen Townsend who preceeded him in death. He is survived by 7 children.
