    3. Dear Charles and Janie: Howdy Cousins! :) My g-g-grandmother was Leah Norris (1844-1908), sister to Jacob J. Norris. Leah was b. in Elizabethton, Johnson County, TN. She died in Oklahoma and I have a picture of her gravesite there. She was married first to Anderson Grogan and then to my g-g-grandfather Robert "Bob" Mitchell (1844-1925). Her daughter Nora Mitchell Bumgarner, born in Watauga County, (1879-1964), was my g-grandmother. Good to meet you! I have some thick Norris files right now, including some genealogical documentation. I also have some emails out to two Norris historians re: our family in North Carolina. Will be happy to share anything! BTW, Charles: Rebecca Smith Norris lived with Leah in her home in Watauga County in her last years. I have this on a census record (1900, I believe--will doublecheck!). One question I hope to clarify: How does Capt. Jacob H. Norris of the 13th TN Cav relate to our Norris family? He was from Johnson County, too. Till next time, Take care--John "Letter writing is the only device for combining solitude and good company." - Lord Byron (1788-1824) "One more shot for the honour of Down!" - Rollicking Rollo (1766-1814) Hero of County Down, IR __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
