Greetings folks! I hope this finds everyone well. Most of you know that I am currently working on a book entitled A Short History of Old Watauga County. At 84,000 words, short is probably not a good definition, but I still feel that it is a overview or short history. I am in need of a few more illustrations to round out the text. I need a couple of photographs of men/women who served in the armed forces in WWI, WWII, Korea, and Vietnam, and possibly other military actions up until today. I am also looking for a picture of the NASA windmill, early Tweetsie amusement park photographs, and a photograph of Cooker Triplett. If you have any other photographs that you think might be helpful, please email me. I am really limited in the amount of illustrations that I can put in the book (less than 100), but please email me. Scans (at 300dpi) are great, or, if you live locally please contact me. I work at the community college here in Boone and can be reached in Monday through Thursday evenings (3-9pm) at (828) 297-3811.
