Death of Noah Mast - Noah MAST was born in Watauga county, in North Carolina, Feb. 20, 1812, and died at his home, four miles southeast of Skidmore, Mo., Feb 7, 1897. He moved to Buchanan county, Missouri, in 1839, where he married Miss Catharine ROLLEN. Together they came to Nodaway county in 1842, and entered government land on which he lived until he died. Perhaps he was the oldest settler at his death in the county. Six children blessed their home, five of whom survive him. There are 23 grandchildren living and 12 dead; four great-grandchildren living and one dead. Under the ministry of Rev. Thomas Hedgepeth he gave his heart to God and united with the M.E. church, South, in January, 1874, since which time he has been a consistent member of the church at Skidmore. His funeral was preached by his pastor, Rev. James M. Rogers, to a large number of kinsmen and friends, and his remains laid to rest in the Groves cemetery to await the resurrection day.
