My wife's GGG Grandfather, J. Tennessee Adams, was born in Watauga, Carter County, TN in 1835. I have no idea who his parents were, but given the political situation in Northeast Tennessee from about 1790 on I suspect the Adams in that area were probably related to the Adams across the mountains. If anyone researching the Adams families can shed any light on my J. T. Adams I would like to hear from you. I will be glad to share what I have. J.
