Ruby Opal Miller Mrs. Ruby Opal Miller, 94, of Todd, N.C., died Saturday afternoon, Feb. 25, 2006, at Margate Health Care and Rehabilitation. She was born Sept. 1, 1911, a daughter of the late Julius Lavander and Laura Leona Tatum Miller. Mrs. Miller was a homemaker and a member of Blackburn Chapel United Methodist Church. Survivors include one daughter, Sarah Howell of Mill Creek; two sisters, Mary Risk and husband, Charlie, of Todd, and Lucille Wagner and husband, Estelle, of Haines City, Fla.; four grandchildren, Don Miller and wife, Alice, of Greenville, Tenn., Mike Miller and wife, Susan, of Statesville, Evelyn Wetzel and husband, Paul, of Jefferson, and Elizabeth Mellon and husband, Sheldon, of Hickory; and a number of great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Jonathan Miller; one son, James Clyde Miller; three sisters, Hazel Stanberry, Ruth Heck and Ella Mae Jackson; and three brothers, Cecil, George and J.B. Miller. Services will conducted Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock at Austin & Barnes Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by the Rev. Keith Miller. Burial will follow in the Howell Cemetery.
