Bobby Lee “Andy” Byrd Mr. Bobby Lee “Andy” Byrd, 70, of Hwy 105 South, Banner Elk, the Foscoe Community, died Friday evening, Feb. 24, 2006, at Life Care Center of Banner Elk. He was born in Watauga County, Sept. 19, 1935, a son of William M. Byrd and the late Emma Eggers Byrd. Mr. Byrd attended Foscoe Christian Church, and was a member of Snow Lodge # 363 AF & AM. He was the owner and operator of B. L. Byrd Construction for over 30 years, was an avid fisherman, and a retired member of the Foscoe Volunteer Fire Department. Survivors include his wife, Bobbie Jean Byrd; three daughters, Debbie Arnett and husband, Vernon, of Vilas, Teresa Greene and Melanie Hollar and husband, LaBaron, all of Boone; one son, William Byrd and wife, Stephanie, of Boone; four granddaughters, Keri Anne and Kelly Greene, Samantha, and Heather Byrd, all of Boone; and one grandson, Tanner Byrd of Boone; his father, Will Byrd of Zionville; four brothers, Bill Byrd and wife, Lathania Byrd, of Roan Mountain, Tenn; Benny Byrd and wife, Sharon, of Morganton, Bennett Byrd and wife, Mary Alice, and Baxter Byrd and wife, Janet, all of Zionville; one sister, Rose Edna Thomas and husband, Ronnie, of Zionville. He was preceded in death by his mother, Emma Eggers Byrd; and two sons-in-law, Charles Greene and Greg Edmisten. Services were conducted Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m., at Austin & Barnes Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Lance Hostetter officiating.
