When I clicked on the link I did not see a way to pull up the Aldridge family (#4 below). Can someone help me to find the page? THANKS! I'm a descendant of their son, David who md. Elizabeth Norris. From my files I've pasted the sources I have for William and the notes I have from some of them. Information based on "A Genealogy of William and mary Aldridge Miller" by Danny L. Miller. Additional information from John O. Hawkins. This packet was sent to me by Greg Miller, 2006. Possibly born in England. #3 Mary was the daughter of Thomas II and Martha Bolling born in 1740. I am not sure about the father of William Miller. I have his father as Heinrich Mueller Miller born about 1710. I have this also on William and Mary; >From Margaret DeLong; "Wm. and Polly settled in Lewis Fork, Wilkes Co., NC. They were charter members of the Boone's Ford Church. In 1755 they were members of Jersey Baptist Church in Rowan. They were also charter members of the Three Forks Baptist Church which was org. in 1790" He is the source that provided William's middle name. Also states he was a Rev. War Vet. #4 "William Miller immigrated to Pennsylvania from Germany, by way of England about 1759. He was the son of Heinrich Mueller of Germany, and it is believed his name was changed from German (Wilheim Mueller) to English (William Miller) while he was arranging passage to America from England (immigrants from Europe had to make their way to England to gain ships passage to America from the port of South Hampton). It is also believed he immigrated with at least one brother. William served in the Revolutionary war under the command of General Anthony Wayne. He and Mary were Charter members of the Three Forks Baptist Church, which is the oldest (1790) constituted Church in Watauga County, NC." #5 "In America William Miller bound himself out in order to obtain money for Mary's passage to America. William and Mary were probably married between 1755-60, probably in New Jersey. In the 1760's William and Mary moved into the Jersey Settlement in Rowan County, and in 1775 William joined the Jersey Baptist Church by transfer of letter from Bonne's Ford Baptist Church. Sometime after this the family moved into Wilkes County, settling at Holman's Ford on Lewis Fork, but in 1783 they crossed into the part of Ashe County, to Cook's Gap, which would become Watauga in 1849 and thus became among the earliest settlers of Watauga county. There he took up 640 acres from what is now the Parkway to the New River near Boone and lived on Goshen Creek. William and Mary appear on the records as charter memebers of the Three Forks Baptist Church which was organized in 1790. They were active and faithful members of this church. In 1801 they moved back to Lewis Fork where they spent the rest of thier lives and are presumed to be buried in this area. They died between 1820-30. West of Lewis Fork Baptist Church is Miller Mountain which may have been named for William. There is a cemetery dating back to the 1800's at the base of the mountain, and Wiliams's grandson, John B. Miller, son of Jospeh is buried there." On Jan 19, 2008, at 8:29 PM, Barbara Rich wrote: > I am interested in information on the Miller family. I am a > descendant of > David Miller as well. I have some problems with that birthdate of 3/5/1800 for my Samuel Senior. He shows up in the 1850 census in Caldwell County with Sarah and he's 60 then. This may be the father of the Watauga Samuel Austin, but I don't think it's the Caldwell Samuel Austin. The 1870 Watauga census shows this family and the children that match this data. I think we have one of those frustrating coincidences. r/Jon ----- Original Message ----- From: <Edew31@wmconnect.com> To: <ncwataug@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, January 21, 2008 7:54 PM Subject: Re: [NCWATAUG] William Larkin Greene & Judy Caroline Hodges > > Per Nora Austin Greene: > > She shows: > > Samuel Austin b. ca 3-5-1800 > m. .My wife is descended from Emma Thursey Austin who was the daughter of Samuel Monroe Austin Jr. and his second wife. Mary Rich. His first wife was Mariah Reed. Emma Thursey was my wifes Grandmother and lived in Blowing Rock and is buried in the town cemetery. We have some interesting information on how Samuel met and married his second wife. His first wife died leaving him with 5 children. This information was put together up there in the hills and I am sure some others up there have the same copies. Just throwing this out there for general info. Nancy Winebarger was the daughter of John Winebarger and Nellie Oxford. Abner Bolick was the son of Johan Adam Bolick Jr and granson to Johan Adam Bolick who came here from Germany. Here is some info on him. Johan Adam Bolick landed in Philadeliphia, September 24, 1753 from the ship Neptune with his wife Anna and two sons. Jacob was born in Germany about 1751 and Sebastian was thought to be born at sea. Johan Adam, Jr., Casper, Godfrey, Christina and Elizabeth were the children. Johan's brother Andreas Bolch settled in Pennsylvania. Johan Adam came to North Carolina in 1760. He was a shoemaker and very wealthy. He made the family new shoes and put his gold between the soles because he was not suppose to bring his money with him to America. 19 April 1849 Caldwell Deed Book 2, page 150 E. P. Miller sells 2 tracts to Abner Bolick 1st tract 50 acres on Waters of Gilberts Branch 2nd tract 40 acres on John's River Abner Bolick was father of Marcus Bolick. Abner may have moved into the area while it was still Burke County. All of Burke county records destroyed before 1865. Abner Bolicks wife was Nancy Winebarger.. This Bolick family came from Alexander County, but lived just across the river from Catawba County ----- Original Message ----- From: <Edew31@wmconnect.com> To: <ncwataug@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, January 21, 2008 12:39 PM Subject: Re: [NCWATAUG] David A.
