    1. [NCWATAUG] Seeking Graveyard or Burial Location
    2. JOHN FLETCHER
    3. I am looking for the Burial place of Spencer Fletcher and/or his family, Berryman Fletcher. Spencer died about 1870 and his wife Sarah Emmaline Wilson married Boon Deal. I have been told that there is a cemetery somewhere in the Brushey Fork area where Berryman's family are buried. I know that they lived on the west side of Rich Mountain somewhere off 421 West of Boone. Enoch Fletcher, and Burton Fletcher, Spencer's brothers, lived in the Mable Community near Zionville, 2 miles from the TN State Line. I do not know exactly where Spencer may have lived. Theran Fletcher, another brother lived somewhere near Vilas. Spencer Fletcher apparently died before 1874. By then, Emmaline was re-married to Boon Deal and they had a son, Harvey Deal, who was 6 years of age. Mary, Martha, Jack and Clark Fletcher are listed as the step-children of Boon Deal. Spencer was living on the farm of Boon Deal when he was a young man. I do not know where his farm was located. Thanks for any help John E. Fletcher

    3. My family is through Robert H. (Henry?) b. abt. 1820 - his first marriage (Susannah Wright of Buncombe County) which I believe he had three children. There are two trees posted on Rootsweb one is mine and the other was done by Jerry Taylor who lives in Town County, Ga. - the last place Joel and Lydia (Miller) Bingham were living. My tree lists Joel Bingham as being born 23 May 1793 (this date is wrong). I haven't done much research on the Miller family and I did the posted family tree to untangle all the Joel's, Henry's and etc. on the Bingham family. I was also looking for information on Lydia's children prior to the 1850 census. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jon Smith" <jon.smith.1234@comcast.net> To: <ncwataug@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, January 22, 2008 5:22 PM Subject: Re: [NCWATAUG] Miller family > I have that she was born on 2/23/1802 in Meat Camp Township in Watauga > County. > > Married Joel Bingham in 1818 in Wilkes County (we was born abt 1793 in > Wilkes County) > > 3 kids > Joel F Bingham - b abt 1834 in Ashe County > Henry Bingham - b abt 1835 in Wilkes County > George Bingham - b abt 1847 in Macon County > > They are in Macon County for the 1860 Census and George remains there - > possible marriage, but there's a 10 year gap so I haven't listed it. > > Joel Jr and Joel show up in the 1870 Census in Towns, Georgia > Joel Jr has a son Cicero and there's 3 more generations from there > > Can't find anything on Henry. 3. I have that she was born on 2/23/1802 in Meat Camp Township in Watauga County. Married Joel Bingham in 1818 in Wilkes County (we was born abt 1793 in Wilkes County) 3 kids Joel F Bingham - b abt 1834 in Ashe County Henry Bingham - b abt 1835 in Wilkes County George Bingham - b abt 1847 in Macon County They are in Macon County for the 1860 Census and George remains there - possible marriage, but there's a 10 year gap so I haven't listed it. Joel Jr and Joel show up in the 1870 Census in Towns, Georgia Joel Jr has a son Cicero and there's 3 more generations from there Can't find anything on Henry. There's a bunch of records on Rootsweb that show him as a Robert Henry Bingham, who marries a Susanna Wright, but the dates don't work (he can't be born in 1835 and his grandson born in 1853, so someone's led others astray there) Hope this helps. If you want more details on the kids, let me know off-line and I'll send you a file. If she's a relative of yours, then we're cousins. 3. There is a Samuel Austin in the 1850 census in Alexander County (unfortuanately no township) The listing is: Samuel Austin - 59 Martha - 52 or 57 (hard to read) Susan - 21 Rottway - 18 (hard to guess on the writing on the name - the Rott is pretty clear - the rest is hard to read) Hillman - 16 Betty - 13 Philip - 10 Randal - 3 What I can find via census records is: My Samuel Austin (and family) in 1850 in Caldwell (Lower Creek) - born around 1790 (wife Sarah Bolch) - who has a son named Samuel born around 1823 Samuel Austin (Burke) - 1840 - which I think is mine above based upon the quantities and ages Samuel Austin (and family) in 1860 in Tazewell, Virginia - I think this is my Samuel Austin, Jr, but it's not a strong guess Samuel Austin (and family) #2 in 1850, 1860 in Caldwell (Little River) - born around 1837 with 4 sisters to him in 1860 (son of William and Martha Austin) Samuel Austin (Watauga) and family in 1850, 1860, 1870, 1880, 1900, 1910 - born around 1825 (wife Mary) - who has a son named Samuel born around 1875 Samuel Austin (Alexander) - in 1850, 1860 - born around 1790 (wife Martha) Samuel Austin (Yancey) and family in 1860, 1870, 1880 - born around 1800 (wife Margaret) Samuel Austin (Morgan County, Alabama, but born in NC) - 1850 census - dies there Samuel Austin #2 (Yancey) in 1870, 1880 - born around 1817 (wife Mahala) - probably the son of Samuel Austin #1 from Yancey County (and Samuel #2 has a son he names Samuel.....) Samuel Austin, Sr (Burke) in 1800, 1810, 1820 Samuel Austin, Jr (Burke) in 1800, 1810, 1820, 1830 (both could have been in the part that become part of Caldwell - neither were there in 1790) Samuel Austin (Rowan) in 1810, 1820, then Iredell in 1830 (I'm guessing) Samuel Austin (Buncombe) in 1820, 1830 Samuel Austin (Lincoln) in 1820, 1830 Plus 3 others that moved to Missouri and Mississippi and Tennessee. So, anyone want to take a stab at sorting out the Samuel Austins? I'm thinking almost all of these guys were different guys. The 1800 Burke County census shows 7 Austin families in a row, so they all came from somewhere and I'm guessing they were all related, with all having neighboring plots of land. None of them were in the 1790 Burke Census. r/Jon ----- Original Message ----- From: "MJFarley" <MJFarley@triad.rr.com> To: <ncwataug@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, January 22, 2008 7:26 AM Subject: Re: [NCWATAUG] William Larkin Greene & Judy Caroline Hodges > Samuel Austin from Winkler's Creek Boone NC came from out of Caldwell > county > some of his brothers and maybe sisters went west.
