I am looking for information on Alfred Miller, born near 1841 in Watauga County, who married Sarah or Sallie. By 1880, he is living in Mitchell County. I would like to find out who his parents are or any other relevant information. Thank You. _________________________________________________________________ Add photos to your messages with MSN 8. Have a try at Watauga County Tax records and the listings of registered voters. Somebody give Earlene these county addresses. Spread the news to this page when you find this elusive record. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Sharon Williamson" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, March 10, 2003 10:37 AM Subject: Re: [NCWATAUG] Re: NCWATAUG-D Digest V03 #17 > Hi, > > I don't think the 1950 or 1940 census records are open > for inspection at this time. I am looking for information on Mary Ann McCravy. She was the first wife of my Great-Great-Grandfather, Abraham Chadwick. She died in 1853 and is possibly buried at Cove Creek Cemetery, Watauga Co., NC. Does anyone know if there were chldren from this marriage? Can anyone confirm that she is buried at Cove Creek. Also where is Cove Creek located? Any information would be appreciated. Thanks. Cathy
Hi, I don't think the 1950 or 1940 census records are open for inspection at this time. I'm thinking 1930 is the last one that can be viewed. Sharon "Earlene J. Earlene: The 1940 and 1950 census records are not available for public research. 1930 is the last year available. Federal law says that census records are not to be made public unitl 70 years after the enumeration year.
Hi List Would like someone to check the 1940 and 1950 Watauga County Census and check out the name of Leonard and or Dillon Pennell wife named Katie or Kate.......I believe he was killed in 1952..... He was son of Charles Manly Pennell....... thank you, Earlene ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, March 06, 2003 10:01 PM Subject: NCWATAUG-D Digest V03 #17

The Heritage Vols. 1 & 2, have only last name indexes. I made the full name index for Vol. 1 and am working on the full name index for Vol. 2. You can get the Heritage Vol. 2 from Sanna Gaffney at the Genealogical Society of Watauga County. I believe the price for Vol. 2 is $31.50, including shipping and tax. (that's a bargain!) Write myself, ([email protected]) or Sanna, ([email protected]) for the address to mail payment to. The Full Name Index is $20.00 shipped. It includes more than 25,000 names. That comes from me.
