I am looking for information on Charles Henson (born about 1780 in Virginia) and his sons. I have found information suggesting he had a son Jordan and James. What I am trying to find out is if he had a son, Robert W. born around 1827? Maybe someone has access to 1830/1840 census records? Charles died around 1830 but he had a wife, Elizabeth who would be listed. Any assistance would be truly appreciated.
I am a descendant of Nathaniel Canada Shull and Myra Green of Shulls Mills. "Canada,," who was killed during the battle of Fredricksburg, was the son of Phillip and Phoebe Shull. His wife Myra was the daughter of Amos and Sena Green. I am looking for any information about the family that is available. I am especially interested in learning more about Sarah Shull DeVald, my thrice great aunt. She had an adulterous affair with Sheriff David McCanles and I would like any information I can get on the couple. I am researching for a book and need stories and info! Thanks, Cate Von Minden
I am researching my Morris ancestors. Mary Susan Morris was born March 4, 1869 and died 1926. I believe she was the daughter of Millard Martin and Matilda Triplett. She may have had brothers Ed and Jesse and sister Annie. I have photos of Ed, Jesse, Annie and Mary Susan. I also have a photo of Jack Morris which may be Ed or Jesse's son. I believe Annie married a Greer. Mary Susan Morris married William John Palmer born 1867 and died 1940. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Kim Hudson Shumate Wilkes County, NC

Searching for information on Josie Eleanor and brother Charles Ristin Coffey. She was my grandmother and he my great uncle. They both married a brother and sister Sherfey. They were born and raised near Boone and Caldwell county, NC. They parents were Henry K and Sarah Jane Gragg in the 1860's. Sarah died in 1906 and Henry in 1911. Of particular interest to me are the Coffey and Gragg families in NC and their roots. Hi, There is a place online with the information you mention. Thanks to the Catawba NCGenWeb county coordinator we have the use of a map that shows just that information. It is linked to from my Watauga Links page here: http://www.geocities.com/familysnooper/Wata_links.html It is in the second table and is called: NC County Formation, and that link takes you here: http://www.rootsweb.com/~nccatawb/countyfm.htm Down below the first map are links to other maps that show how the counties were at different times. Is there someplace on line that shows the progression of county line changes prior to the forming of Watauga County? I'm particularly interested in the area between Beaverdam and Forest Grove. I don't know the progression but I understand that this area was once part of Ashe Co., and Rowan Co., and ... ? Starting prior to 1780. I only have one Margaret Warren 1854-1943. She apparently lived and died in Washington Cty VA. Some of my other Warrens did migrate though, so you might want to check my site, below. Seeking information on the COUSINS family. They were in Boone from 1850 through 1870. John and Ellington were brothers. In the census they are marked Mulatto, but I suspect they might have been Melungeons based on the testimony in the Isaac Cousins court case.. Mary A. (Polly) Cousins lived with a Clemmons (Clementine) REED (Reid, Read) from 1860 through? She eventually moved to Tennessee. Can you help with any information on this family? Carolee Clovis CA

Does anyone know who Carver's Gap is named for? I'm researching my Dad's family, and one of two of them evidently settled in NW North Carolina after moving down from Virginia. Thanks Bernice Carver Thompson
Ms. Norvell, I'm a descendant of Margaret Warren Mathieson of Watauga Co. I'm interested in researching the Warren line. If this name has any significance, please let me know. How was he killed? I was there in 1952 and don't remember the event, but I was only fourteen and not paying attention to ANYTHING!. The Watauga Democrat Archives ought to have a story or, at least, an obituary.
Hi, If Mary Ann MCCravy died in 1853, then she may be in the 1850 Watauga Census. I think I have a link to that on the Watauga Links page, here: http://www.geocities.com/familysnooper.Wata_links.html I haven't checked it lately, so let me know if it isn't working. Also, you might check with John Heaton who video taped the cemeteries. He may be able to tell you if she is there. Cove Creek Baptist Church and cemetery is located on US421 just before going into Tenn. Hope this helps. Sharon [email protected] wrote: > I am looking for information on Mary Ann McCravy.
