For those with a Winebarger interest in the Meat Camp area, you might want to check out this website. http://www.appalshop.org/film/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=269 I haven't seen the film, but have been told that it is very good and that the Winebarger Mill is a main focus of the film. 3. Looking for anyone related to or information pertaining to James Crowe and Catherine Minton and their son William Crowe. It is quite possible that Will or William may be my great great grandfather. Any information regarding this family could elevate our family gap on my paternal side. We can only go back to my grandfather Crowe's father and his father's mother. I do have a picture of Will and will gladly pass it on if this family does indeed tie into mine. Frederick James <or> James Frederick was born in Georgia and Catherine in TN and moved to N.C. Had William which is listed in the 1870 census at 1 year of age. In 1880 census they listed James, Catherine, William and Charles. Thank you in advance, Debbie Crowe Baltimore, Maryland

    2. kathryn teague
    3. Toney, The information you have on Moses Alexander Teague may be the same person that I picked up from the census records. I am showing his birthday to be July 1843, but that would have made him 75 when he died. I have Elijah Teague as his father, and a woman whose maiden name may have been Philips as Elijah's wife. The information I have for this Moses Teague (that I refer to as "Mode" Teague) is Spouse - Sarah Brinkley, born 1852 Daughter - Victoria Narcissus Teague, born December 22, 1870 Son - Andrew A Teague, born November 1873 Son - Edward L Teague, born November 1878 One of the problems I encountered while looking at census records from Ashe County is that the ages of individuals do not consistently follow from one census to the other. I suppose the reason for that is either the family didn't keep records of births, or they literally lost track of time over the 10-year span between visits from the counters! (Has anyone else encountered this?) I cannot make a clear link of this line to the family I am searching, but maybe it is helpful to you. If you see any other clues, I'd appreciate hearing from you! Thanks, Kathryn ----- Original Message ----- From: [email protected] To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [NCWATAUG] The Teagues Date: Sun, 14 Aug 2005 16:42:13 EDT > > there is a Moses Alexander Teague, father Elijah, 69 years of age died > 1-17-1918, Caldwell County, book 5 page 3 on death index, i cannot > fit him into my > family dont know if this one you are looking for or not, there are 17 Moses > Teagues, that i know of, thanks toney > > > ==== NCWATAUG Mailing List ==== > A History of Watauga County, by J.P.
