    3. Hi, I stumbled onto this, looking for some Russell Co., VA ancestors http://www.combs-families.org/combs/records/va/frederick.htm . The website is well-done and documented. I see mention of Combs and Stacys who moved from Frederick Co., VA to Rowan Co., NC by 1768. Even as of 1775, Rowan included most of western NC http://www.rootsweb.com/~ncmeckle/nc1775.jpg , so I wanted to make you all aware of this information. Kind regards, Michelle Ligon

    3. When I was too busy to do anything about it I noticed an announcement that had something to do with a Hunt family reunion in the Andersonville, TN area. Does anyone know whether or not that is a yearly thing? Is it related to one specific Hunt family or the Hunt family in general? I am one of the tons of people in the Esli Hunt line (bp. Bedford Co., VA and Revolutionary War Patriot in VA and NC) and am just now having time to get into the genealogy of our family though I have a sister who has done a tremendous amount of research. We are also researching my husband's line is through the Jacob Sharp who is buried in Mt.Pleasant Methodist Church cemetery just outside of Andersonville, TN. His is an old hand carved sandstone tombstone with "Jake Sharp" hand scratched in it; beside him in the same style tombstones are wife, "Parley", "Katty, 1824" (Jake's mother), "Bradford " (son who fell out of a barn and hurt his head and had "fits" thereafter). These tombstones are not listed in the book in the Clinton library (don't have the name at my fingertips right now) which lists names of people buried in the cemeteries of the area, possibly the writing is so dim that the person listing the names didn't recognize it was there. I have rubbings and photographs. Any information about either line would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, gsharpe@frontiernet.net p.s. Or perhaps I have him married to the wrong lady & Sarah should be married to George W. McGuire, born ca.1837 in Ashe (Watauga) County. Son of John McGuire and Amelia Vannoy appears in 1850 Watauga County census in family group 209. Any help would be appreciated. Not the first time I would have confused gentlemen with the same name. Sigh. Sheila
