    3. Dear Researchers of the Washington County, North Carolina Mailing List, I have joined the Washington County, North Carolina Mailing List because of the Lot[t] PRATT who was enumerated in the Federal Censuses of 1800, 1810 and 1830 of Washington County. The Lot PRATT I am researching was enumerated in the 1800 Census of Peacham, Caledonia County, Vermont, and was born in Bridgewater, Plymouth County, Massachusetts, in 1766. "My" Lot PRATT maried Mary ALDRICH in 1798 in Bridgewater, Massachusetts. This Lot PRATT arrived in Greenup County, Kentucky by 1820, because he was listed in the 1820 Census of Greenup County, Kentucky. His son John PRATT married Eliza BELLOW in 1822 in Greenup County, Kentucky. In attempting to fill out the story of Lot PRATT's life, I encountered the Lott PRATT who lived in Washington County, North Carolina, through a nationwide census index. Naturally my curiosity led me to examine further, to see whether these two [or more] Lot PRATTs were in fact the same person, or at least to identify the North Carolina Lot PRATT. The great distances involved, from Vermont to North Carolina to the Ohio River Valley in Greenup County, Kentucky made me suspicious as to whether I was looking at a match in the two Lot PRATTs. If you have any information or suggestions, please contact me, either privately or on the List. Thank you! As a new List Member, I look forward to meeting researchers of Washington County, North Carolina. Thanks again. Randal W. Cooper <rwcooper@kellnet.com> Lorain, Ohio
