    3. Hi Betty, At this point, any and all help would be greatly appreciated. My John of 1807 is one of two John Swinson's, an uncle and nephew (mine's the nephew) who made their way from Chowan (Tyrell/Washington) to Pitt/martin counties, and on to Duplin in the 1770s. According to information I've found over the years, this John made it as far as New Hanover county before returning to Washington Co. around 1800. He supposedly died their in 1807, leaving a will. One document I've referenced, written in the 1950s indicated the will was in the Courthouse, but didn't identify a book #. I've since scanned the Register of Deed holdings on the Washington Co. Genealogy page, but found they didn'y have wills that old in the Register's Office anymore. Who knows? It's too far from Charleston, SC for me to go look for myself. So, I went out begging for help...laffs. My Swinson family info is posted on the Family TreeMaker homepage at www.familytreemaker.com/s/w/i/Chris-Swinson. Please review it at your leisure.
