I have transcribed the deed indexes for Grantors (Sellers) and Grantees (Purchasers) for the Davenport name from 1799 (when the county was formed) thru 1924. Remember that for every Davenport listed there is another name involved. There are approximately 2500 entries between the two indexes which means that there's a couple of thousand names that are _NOT_ Davenports and they might be yours <g> I have submitted these files to the search engine and hopefully they will be indexed by the end of the day. I will apologize in advance about the files being slow to load, but after spending 4 days trying to get the dratted things formatted so that the columns lined up in all browsers, I threw up my hands and used tables.
