The name AMBERS did not change to AMBROSE. That is simply the way the Ambose name was and still is pronounced in Washington Co NC. If you look on a recent map of at the road names around Creswell, Washington Co, NC you will find an Ambrose Road, however the way the name is pronounced by everyone (even today) is Ambers Road. Hope this helps. Link: The Haas / Davenport Homepage URL: <http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~haas>

Secondly, I did not, I repeat, I did not have her on a mailing list. And no one has been to the newspaper. You are right, my sister or I neither one know this lady in question, but I feel I do know a bit more about the situation than you do, so I ask you now, don't iron out our differences on a public board. But I told her to give you mine. I needed to contact you on behalf of our mother I need you to contact the paper that you had your life story printed on that included your birth mother's name who she's married to and where she resides. Had you called her on the phone and asked for her permission she would've asked for a little privacy in the matter. You don't know her current health and something like that is not good for her, I do know ways you could've printed your life without exposing hers. I realize that there may be issues between you and her that you feel you need to get out. But please have a little respect for our mother I was adopted to and would never dream of hurting her the way your article did. Please get her off the mailing list for Baynor Acres News Letter to. I know your intention were not to hurt her But you don't know her well enough to guess that by putting her name in a paper would'nt hurt but it did.Feel free to contact me. Thank-you, Jeniffer Niezurawski P.S Please don't contact her for a while at least give her some time. She'll contact you when she's ready.

    3. I finished transcribing the Deed indexes (Grantor and Grantee) for the Ambrose surname. Although not anywhere close the to the number of names that I did for the Davenports there were still a few hundred. Remember for every land transaction there are two parties involved. Lots of Washington Co NC names besides Ambrose Also please remember that the court house burned on three occasions and that only the Deed Records were unharmed and go all the way back to 1799. There are lots of women's names found in the deeds. The names have been added to the search engine for Free Find. You can check for your ancestors names by going to my home page (below) and then clicking on Search. Rootsweb's search engine hasn't yet spidered the site so you will need to use the Free Find search engine. Enjoy and good luck. 3. Not sure if this info is of any use - so many folks look to present-day Washington Co. for records that might actually have been the 1st Washington County, NC - created by General Assembly. There was no Washington County NC from 1 June 1796 to Decembe 1799. In 1776 the territory which is now Tennessee was in North Carolina, known as Western Territory, Washington District; later became Washington County. 3. Can anyone give me any help on the relationship between William E. Fagan to HW Waters and JA Everett. The below document states that Hodges Hardison has been appointed as the special administrator of the William E. Fagan estate and was signed by HW Waters and JA Everett. I do not know how or if Hodges Hardison is related to Fagan. The document was found in some old family papers. Hodges hardison was a resident of Martin County. William E. Fagan was a resident of Washington County.Any help is appreciated.I would also appreciate suggestions on how to determine the relationship of the men. Six months after date we or either of us promise to pay Hodges Hardison, Special Administrator of William E. Fagan deceased the sum of $2.75 . Witness our hands and seal. December 4th 1860. 3. I have transcribed the deed indexes for Grantors (Sellers) and Grantees (Purchasers) for the Davenport name from 1799 (when the county was formed) thru 1924. Remember that for every Davenport listed there is another name involved. There are approximately 2500 entries between the two indexes which means that there's a couple of thousand names that are _NOT_ Davenports and they might be yours <g> I have submitted these files to the search engine and hopefully they will be indexed by the end of the day. I will apologize in advance about the files being slow to load, but after spending 4 days trying to get the dratted things formatted so that the columns lined up in all browsers, I threw up my hands and used tables.
