Hi, I would love to know about Nutbush. Was it a creek of some size? My Thomas Henry Rives lived in the area (although I think it was in Granville Co. portion) after he was in Mecklenburg co., Va. but before his removal to Chatham Co., NC where he died. His 2nd wf was Mary Edwards. This would have been about the Rev. war period. Also, what were the Nutbush Papers? Is the map of the Warren Plantations available for viewing on the net? I am also interested to know if Samuel Yeargain, who had over 1,000 acres is noted. His land was primarily on the n. side of the Roanoke River, the wedge which was cut off from Northampton Co. when Warren was erected. His other land was opposite side of the river, Little Stone House Creek. His dau. by 3rd marriage, Sarah Yancey Yeargain, inherited n. side (was still a toddler) in 1785. She m. Thomas Alston later so map could say Thomas Alston plantation, depending upon date. Samuel's dau. by first marriage, Anne, m. Lt. Col. William Alston, son of Joseph John Alston and Elizabeth Chancey of Halifax Co., NC. She inherited Yeargain's Little Stone House Crk. property.
