I am getting conflicting information about him from the Raleigh newspaper abstracts and am interested in straightening it out. Forrest King >> Hello Forrest and all, I do not have any data on your Marmaduke Johnson, but it sounds as though he might have been a descendant of Martin Johnson of Surry County, Va who married Grace Beckwith, daughter of Marmaduke Beckwith of the same county. Martin Johnson died in 1687 and Grace died in the early 1700's. Below is what I have on this family; I descend from Martin's son John.
