    1. Re: [NCWARREN-L] Warren County marriages CD and book
    2. My apologies for making this a list answer but there might be others that want to know. Also, there are items I forgot to mention about other resources that are available. I have not seen anyone that just has a first name nor any specific references to being African-American in the book so I suspect the answer to your question is no, unfortunately. There seems to be a trend in the abstracts toward most all of Wake County, a good chunk from neighboring counties, and notables from distant counties. Warren County is well represented. (The latest North Carolina Genealogical Society Journal has details about how to order the Raleigh newspaper abstracts in the back of the publication in the advertising section.) One other thing I did remember that might be of some help in research on the topic of marriages. It is a very poor substitute for what Betty and Eddie have done. It is difficult to pick up name variants on a CD that you can spot with the eye and the CD sorts by male name only. A human touch makes a huge difference. Anyway, Family Tree Maker sells a CD "Family Archive CD 4, Marriage Index: Selected Counties of MD, NC, VA, 1624-1915". It is either $29 or $39. Warren County marriages are covered through 1867. The book that is so kindly and thoughtfully being used for look ups in can be purchased from Iberian Publishing Company for $17.50. They can be reached at 1-800-394-8634 or their web site is http://www.iberian.com/. The Warren County information is no different from the CD. Forrest King
