Nevertheless, I occasionally feel compelled to offer my opinion when I think it will be useful -- such as now -- but please don't blame Eunice for this. I don't believe that a 3-day boycott of gasoline will have any effect on the price. Over the course of a month, you will still need to buy pretty much the same amount of gasoline in order to get to work, go to the store, etc. If you don't buy it on April 7-9, that just means that you will have to buy more gas to refill your tank on April 10. The net result is that at the end of the month, the total amount of gas sold will be the same as if there were no boycott. The only way to affect the price of gas in the long run is to buy smaller, more fuel-efficient cars, shop and work closer to the place where you live, and don't vote for politicians who refuse to cut the taxes on gasoline (which add up to about 40% of the price of gas) even though the government supposedly has a 1-trillion dollar budget surplus .
