I am trying to find out any information on this PUCKETT lineage. Phebe PUCKETT was born "about" 1770 based on later census records. It is thought that her parents were Shippe Allen PUCKETT and Mary (LNU). She married William WARTHEN on December 23, 1790 in Warren county NC. However, in the same Warren county NC, there is in the marriage records: Sallie PUCKETT m. Avery DYE May 28, 1785 Nancy PUCKETT m. James Warthen June 16, 1785 Were these two PUCKETT girls sisters? Was James a brother of the above mentioned William? William and Phebe migrated to the Overton county TN area about 1802 and remained there until their deaths.Both deaths occuring between 1840-1850 as they appear in the 1840 census, but not the 1850. There were a total of 7 children born to this union. The only records I have of Shippe PUCKETT are as witnesses to Deeds in the time frame of 1765-1779 in the Bute county NC area, which later became in part Warren county.
