There is only one tombstone in the place - there appear to be other depressions and I believe there are a few field stones, but no other official stones. Because of the name of the cemetery in the deed, I suspect it was on the side of the family of Sarah Lemuel Alston Williams. Both she and her husband were Peter Davis descendants. Sydney and Sarah Williams had a number of grandchildren, on of which was Sidney Williams of Essex and later Scotland Neck. He was my uncle by marriage, and died last February 1999 with no children and no siblings. He left his land to me, my brother, and my mother, so almost by default we became owners of this cemetery, even though we are not Williams descendants. As soon as possible we deeded the cemetery over to the Harris side of the family. It is now the property of George Hux and wife Jeannette Harris Hux of Rocky Mount NC. She is a granddaughter of Sidney and Sarah Williams. David Gammon
