One of my most elusive ancestors is John EARLE, who is found in the records of Brunswick Co, VA in 1755 and later in Lunenburg and Mecklenburg Counties in VA. (These residences might show the evolution of counties rather than migration.) In the 1760s he moved his family to Granville Co, NC, where he died about 1797. His wife, Agnes, is mentioned in Virginia records and in his will. His son and heir, John EARL, married Zebiah SIMS in Warren Co, in 1780. No trace of John EARLE of Virginia has been found prior to the records in Brunswick Co. I have found no immigration record or any mention in colonial records. One would think he was probably among the many Virginia descendants of Sir John EARLE, but I have not been able to find the link. Any help would be much appreciated. Tom Aiken
