Has anyone transcribed any of the census for Warren Co, NC. Are they on line anywhere? Or is there a book out with them in it? I have Ancestry and can get the images but the 1860 census has no index and I am going through each one to find Abbington Kimbal Fleming, who married Mary C. Smith, daughter of Banister Royster Smith and Mary 'Polly' Fleming. I found him in the 1850 Census of Warren Co, NC living with his parents, Jeremiah Middleton Fleming and Anne S. Kimball. I also found him in the 1870 Census of Warren Co, NC, living with Mary C. Smith and their children. He is also listed in the 1880 Census of Warren Co, NC with a new wife, Eugenia. Helen, Genealogy.com has the 1860 Census online and indexed by state, along with 1900 & 1910 which also aren't indexed at Ancestry. 1860 was the year our Warren County Census takers decided to skip listing first names, and just use initials. However, they did compensate by giving the names of the counties where each person was born, in most cases.
