I am interested in the Neal reference. My great grandparents were Martha Poythress who married an Edward Neal (age 32) in Emporia, Greensville Co, VA in March 1880. The marriage certificate lists Edward's parents as living in NC, William Neal as the father of Edward . Edward's mother's name is difficult to decipher-it looks like Sheney. Martha and Edward's daughter listed her name as O'Neill on her marriage certificate in Halifax Co, NC. Because my other lines both paternal and maternal seemed to be in lower Virginia and upper NC--Warren, Vance, Franklin, Halifax, I would be interested as to what Mrs. Kerr's deed book mentions as to property owned by Jeremiah and particularly William Neal and whether anyone on this list has a line on these two Neals. >Mrs. Kerr's deed book....
