Hello, I am Andy Smith of the family of Gulielmus Smith (Gulielmus,Edmund,William,Banister Royster,Solomon W.,Robert Junius,William A,[my father]. I, as well as many other members of our extended family, are trying to find information on the wife and ancestors of Gulielmus Smith, born in Hanover Co. VA abt 1735, died Warren Co. 1814. I am also trying to find more information on Gulielmus's son Edmund (and family), who reportedly moved to South Carolina after 1814 and died there. Edmund's son William is the father of my gggrandfather Banister Royster Smith. As always, I would be deeply appreciative for any information. William Andrew Smith, Jr.

Hi, My name is Kathy and I am researching the Twitty. Specifically the line from Thomas through his son Peter Wynne.
I wonder if we might have a roll Call. With all the holidays and other events the activity on this list has slowed down. I am Ginger and I manage the Warren County GenWeb Web page and have been uploading the finished districts of the 1900 census for the county. My roots are very deep into Warren County through CHRISTMAS and DUKE lines. -- Ginger L. Christmas-Beattie Author-Publisher Helping you track your ancestors. I have pictures of gravestones from the Fairview Cemetery in Warrenton, NC. There are two Dowtin family plots. I need the correct family connections on some of the stones. I seem to have misplaced some of my notes. Grave of Louise Dowtin - 1897-1970-Father? I have two John A. Dowtins -one was born 1855, son of Capt. Wm Anthony Dowtin - other was born 1866, son of Samuel W. Dowtin. With two John A. Dowtins who was the father of the one always called Jack & lived in the house in town? John Dowtin b.1866 married Fannie Egerton - anyone know the names of any children? Grave of John A. Dowtin, Jr. - 1908-1978-Grandson of Capt. Wm Anthony or Samuel W.? Grave of Annie V. Dowtin 1892-1958 - Wife of Sam Davis (next to his grave 1892-1935)- Who was Annie's father? Daughter of one of the John A's? Whew! I thought I had it all figured out but with more info collected it just gets more confusing with all the same names! Any help whatsoever with ANY of the above would be greatly appreciated and I am more than willing to share what I have on the rest of the Dowtin family. I am trying desperately to find out what happened to all 9 of my grandfather's brothers and sisters (I have found some of the "cousins"). Sincerely, Carol Simpson, great grand-daughter to the above Samuel William Dowtin

Wanted to let everyone know.. I have taken on the Granville Co. GenWeb Page - as if I needed more to do. Still with Ginger doing such an excellent job with Warren, it seemed natural to work on our parent county since those with very early Warren Co. ancestors know they are first found in Granville. It is still very barebones since I only changed it over a couple of days ago. The previous host was Carol Morrison which I am sure many of you know or know about. Carol has been a tremendous force in GenWeb since the inception and has been more productive than I can ever hope to be but she felt she had to cut back some of her responsibilities. We will need all the help we can get and I welcome any contributions that any of you might have that we can post. I am desperate to buy any of the Granville Co. books done in recent years to use for lookups. It seems that all are out of print and I have not been able to locate ANY on any of the book lists. If you should have anything you would like to sell, just let me know. If you should see any for sale that are actually available, please send a link so that I can order them. If I can not locate them, I will get to the library and copy what is there.. very expensive at $.25 a page. I have started the Granville Co. marriages (only up to 1785 as of this moment) and have a couple of other projects in mind. Do visit our beginnings and please join the mailing list since I tend to post new listings on the mailing lists. http://www.rootsweb.com/~ncgranvi/index.htm Here is wishing one and all a very Happy New Year! Nola
12/26/02 I received mine in the mail. I was disappointed not to find an entry from Sandy Bolik about the Hoyle Family. Happy New year one and all. Thanks, John Clark.
I will be out of the office starting 12/23/2002 and will not return until 01/02/2003. I will respond to your message when I return.
I have come across some census records that indicate William and Lillie Gee as having been in NC during the 1910 and possibly 1900 timeframes. They originated from SC. The VA census lists their children in 1920 and 1930 as being born in NC. The children were Elmore, Mottie??, Ponzo and Berman (Burman). If you have seen any GEE family members, please let me know. I am just looking for a clue as to where in NC they might have been. Thanks. Happy Holidays to all.
