    3. I am looking for James Christmas married Martha Owens 18 dec 1842. Would they be in your book. I am also looking for any information on the father of James Christmas b: 8 Oct. 1808 - m: 18 Dec 1842 to Martha Owens d: 2 Feb. 1880. His mother was Margaret E. Wortham who was born in the mid 1700's. Any information would be nice. I found a James Christmas in the Court records of 1792 that I cannot connect to anyone as well. Thank you Ginger L.     1. [NCWARREN-L] Williams? cemetary in Warren county.

    3. Last weekend as I visited relatives in Warren county, I noticed that the loggers have been quite busy on Hwy 43 south of Warrenton, especially near Marmaduke crossroads. There on the left side of the road (if you are traveling south) is an old house known by some of my folks as the old Perry house, which hasn't been occupied for at least 35 years. Behind it is where a lot of land has just been cleared out by the loggers, and my cousin told of a cemetery there. It has several unmarked graves, but one with an obelisk-type headstone was marked. It was for a Mary L. Williams. I intend to investigate for myself the next time I'm there, but thought I'd share with the list to see if anyone else knows about it. Curtis Silver

    3. A sidebar on marriages to not only Warren County but all of North Carolina for that matter. The four book series "Abstracts of Vital Records from Raleigh, North Carolina, Newspapers" from about 1799 to 1840 provides not only some marriages that are otherwise missing but gives some information that would not be available from a marriage register. This newspaper also covers surrounding counties very nicely including Warren County. The majority of information in these volumes are death notices. Forrest King

    3. Thank you Curtis, Many people through the years ahve asked me of a Mary L. Williams. It seems that one of my ancestors married a Mary L. Williams and they had a son William H. Christmas and then there was a divorce or something because the next wife's father disowned her when she married Thomas. I have necer been able to locate Mary. I wonder if she revcerted back to her maden name. If not I now have an answer for them as to where they might find Mary L. Williams. I am going to be in the Warrenton area in late September and would love to have some suggestions as to where I might find old cemeteries and houses to look at. Ginger L. Christmas-Beattie
