I agree...please go to the site they tell you of and speak up...someone has signed us up to this drivel on her on authority...what junk! maryellen
Think of the great job that Teresa has been doing and for her to get as much as she does done is amazing. I, like most of you, really don't care for all the messages but have gone over and looked at the message board she has set up and found new contacts on my lines. We need to be considerate of her long hours and remember that she volunteered for this job. None of us did. Ginger

Just one more opinion of course!
Perhaps I should have explained these a little, because I got a few "irate" people responding to me. On the website for Warren CO NC, there are some message boards provided by Rootsweb, called "Genconnect" boards. There is an option to set the boards to let the list know when new posts are made. So, I set them to come to this list. They look like this: --------------------------- Warren Co. NC Queries A new message, "Nicholson, Ben," was posted by A.P. Turner, Jr. on Tue, 30 May 2000 It is a response to "Nicholson," posted by Celeste Marshall on Sun, 09 Jan 2000 Surname: Nicholson, Fitts, Somervill, Kearney, Warwick This is an automatically-generated notice. If you'd like to be removed from the mailing list, please visit the Warren Co. NC Queries: <http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/NC/Warren#Subscribe> If you wish to respond to this message, please post your response directly to the board. <http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/NC/Warren> --------------------------------------------------------- The purpose behind this is to let people know if new postings are made. The emails do not include the entire text, but tells you how to get to the specific posting, and what names are in the posting,,, in this case it's NICHOLSON, FITTS, SOMERVILL, KEARNEY & Warwick. So if YOU would be interested in those names, you would know that someone on the boards posted a query. You could then go and respond, or send an email to the originating poster. Since this implementation, I've already seen SEVERAL responses from listmembers finding out their lines were being discussed, so it's already done some good. But I have also received a few complaints. So, since you have SEEN what they look like, and now know what they mean, tell me what you think. I probably should have announced it at the time I did it, but hey, I was operating on 4 hours sleep in 2 days, and kinda forgot... so I apologize. LOL. (I hate my job,, I hate my job,, oh wait, we are talking genealogy, right?) Seriously, I know this means MORE messages across on the list, and those who are getting digest mode, will continue to get digest mode with only the added messages. But this will also give ALOT more "Bingo's" or "connections" to those actively researching. You can always tell these messages, because they come from [email protected] And they always say "New Warren Co. NC Queries Post" So, tell me what you think? Somewhere along the line I missed something!! When did we quit getting the actual post by subscribers and start getting this automated message?? Is it always going to be this way?? Shirley

In an abstract of Elizabeth Basket's will dated 1796, she states that her estate is to be divided between her two grandsons, William and Thomas Marcus. But then she says, "If my daughter Elizabeth Marcus should ever "come in", my said grandsons are to give her one third of the estate." Does anyone have any ideas what "come In" means. Was she living out of state maybe? Your comments would be most welcome. Thanks, Linda
