    3. I'm going to leave off the Wautauga, info for a little bit (I'll get back to it) and follow up with some other TN. info. It follows in a way, since we have established that some of the Wake Co. folk, wound up in NE TN. Even if, your folks didn't actually serve in the Rev. some of them bought the warrants from the ones that did or were designated heirs and may answer the question of "what happened to my family, where did they go?". Use your tool bar to find your surnames: click on "edit" then "find" The following are Revolutionary Land Warrants (Bounty Land) issued to NC soldiers for land in TN. It, being part of NC to begin with. These records are in the Tn. State Archives, Nashville, TN Thomas Avent - private, 640 acres within the limits of land reserved by law for officers and soldiers of the N.C. Line on 17 Dec., 1786, Assigned to Sterling Brewer on 24 Feb. 1797, Sterling Brewer assigned the land to Morgan Brewer Warrant # 4371 John Joseph Alston, William C. Alston and Aaron Davis Alston, heirs of William Alston, dec. a Lt. Col. in the N.C. Line. Issued 1646 acres of land within the limits of lands reserved by law for officer and soldiers of the Cont. Line. 14 Dec. 1796. Land assigned to Willis Alston by the said heirs of William Alston on 22 April 1808. Warrant No. 4318 Heirs of Samuel Arnold, private, for 640 acres for his services in the N.C. Cont. Line 1 dec. 1796. Wake Co., N.C. Phil Hodges, was administrator to the heirs of Samuel Arnold deceased, to seal the said warrant to Henry Farley Wade. 16 Dec. 1796. Warrant # 4048 William Arthur, who was wounded in the N.C. Line. The land taken from that reserved for officer and soldiers fo the N.C. Line 10 Aug. 1785. Land assigned to John Smith. Wake Co., N.C., Jesse Tharp, Joseph Marcom and Abraham Wagerty/Hagerty/Swagerty? all made oath that they knew William Arthur and signed the transfer. 30 Dec. 1796. Warrant # 1959 The Heirs of James Barr, private in the NC Line. 640 acres, 17 Dec. 1796. Samuel Barr, heir to James, transferred to Allen Brewer in Wake CO., NV. before Nathan'l Jones, JP on 30 Dec., 1796. Papers say that the land was surveyed for William Tyrrell, on 18 July 1797, who was assignee of James Barr's heirs, opposite Turner's Creek of Harpeth River, in Davidson Co., James Barr was a soldier in the Cont. Line and he died in the service. on Oath of G. Bradley, Capt. Warrant # 4370 George/Geirge Dismukes, private, 228 acres within the limits reserved for officer and sol. of the Cont. Line., iss.. 5 Sept. 1821. Aquilla Sugg, dec. A grant for the services of private Joshua Fowler of the N.C. Line. 640 acres granted to said Sugg. Issued to H. H. Sugg ,interference with grant No. 2125. No Warrant No. Says see cert. No. 3644.) Malachi Fike, the Heirs of James Fike were granted 640 acres for James Fike's service as a private in the N.C. Line. Iss.. 8 Dec. 1795. Warrant # 3926 William Hays and Elisha Hays of Gates Co., N.C. to Calvin Jones of Wake Co., NC, transferred a warrant or claim to land to which James Hays a Lt. was entitled for mil. service in the NC Line.
