I am seeking information on Sacred Heart Cemetary. I contacted Sacred Heart Cathedral in Raleigh, and was informed that the cemetary that was previously known as Sacred Heart Cemetary was given to the State of North Carolina (as opposed to the city of Raleigh) many years ago, and probably is known by a different name now. My ancestor, Mordecai B. Barbee, was apparently buried in "Sacred Heart Cemetary" in 1906, according to his death certificate. Furthermore, his wife, Mary (Gorman) Barbee was apparently buried in Catholic Cemetary in 1903. Does anyone have any information regarding the current names of these cemetaries (or if they're the same one, which they very well might be), and/or contact information? I'll check the Raleigh City directories to see about addresses (or at least cross-streets) back at the turn of the century, but any help on finding their current names/locations would be appreciated.
