I'm trying to find the parents of a James K. and a John E. MATHIS/MATTHEWS. James was born in NC in 1820. His father may be Richard MATHIS/MATTHEWS. James K. married the daughter of Andrew McDonough of Raleigh, NC. Andrew moved to Bledsoe County, TN about 1806. Does anyone know anything about the Mathis/Matthews of Wake County before 1830?
