Hello, I don't believe I've introduced myself. My name is Samuel Jeremy Brock. My Wake county line comes from the Pollard family. I believe Barzillai/Barsilla/Barzillia Betts Pollard, born circa 1845, was my gg-grandfather. In later records he is known as BB or as in the 1910 census Balzilba (a misspelling). I believe he was from the Oak Grove area before it went to Durham. As far as I have been able to determine his father was Joshua Pollard, a shoemaker, and his mother Elizabeth Revis/Reavis, a seamstress. Some related surnames are Goodwin and possibly Betts as there is a "Barzillia/Barsilla Betts" who never leaves NC. Also, BB had a brother, if I'm right, Joshua Hinton Pollard. It seems Hinton could be an ancestor's surname as well. My BB served in the 14th NC Infantry, Co "E" as he shows up in the pension records for Crockett county TN where I know he lived. He switched between Crockett and Madison counties between about 1870 and 1920.
