Emma, my ancestors James Lane and Lydia Speight, presumably from Wake County, had a daughter Penny. However, the information I have indicates that at the time of her father's estate administration her surname was Atkins (her father died January 6, 1805). I do not have a date of birth on her, but her brother Nathaniel was born in 1770. If I am not mistaken, I have seen at least one other individual in the records named Penelope (Penny) Lane, somewhere. Rosemary Rummler
