    3. Joanne, The Archives does have copies of the marriage bonds & licenses for all of the years prior to 1930, maybe afterward, too. I think what is confusing everyone is the differences between the Bonds and the licenses. As Carla mentioned, Bonds were required up until about 1868, and afterwards, they only issued licenses, no bonds. The bonds are indexed in many places online including Ancestry.com, and most of the copies are available at the State Archives, some of those early bonds also include copies of any licenses that may have been issued, too. But after 1868, you will only find licenses, and they are indexed at the Archives. In addition, most of the Counties that I have dealt with, also have a marriage register with the marriage info just as Carla is also referring to. The forms to request copies of records from the Archives are for ordering any kinds of records that are available there.
