I've been working on my Liles family connections and reading the sections in the Wake Heritage Book written by Luther Calvin Liles, Jr. He mentions the Riley Hill section of Wake Co. a number of times as the area in which members of the Bourbin Liles family lived. Can someone tell me where this is? And even more importantly, how it got it's name? I'm very interested in the family of James Duncan and Mary Polly Nutt Riley in Wake Co. - I have a theory that they were the parents of the Jane Riley ,who married James W. Liles, and also of Burrilda Riley, who married William A. Rhodes. And I know John Nutt, Mary Polly's father, had land in the general area around what is now Wendell. So I'm wondering if there's a connection. There's also another Riley connection in that general area - William Jonathan Riley who married Mittie Ann Pearce, daughter of Gibson Pearce and Esther Nichols, lived in that same area in the mid-1850s because he's mentioned as a contiguous landowner in a deed from Gibson to S. W. Pearce in 1855. I have no idea if there's any relationship between these two Riley families. Help! Thanks. Joanne Gaudio
