Thanks to the help of the Community Relations Department of Dorothea Dix Hospital, the most complete listing of known burials at the Dorothea Dix Cemetery is now available at Cemetery Census. http://cemeterycensus.com/nc/wake/cem244.htm link to cemetery. Of the approximately 960 burials in the cemetery, 754 have been identified by name. These 754 burials are included in the listing along with their date of death and last known county of residence. We have pictures of a few of the family provided grave markers. In the early 1990s, small permanent grave markers were placed on over 700 of the identified burials. These small markers have the name and date of death.
