Doing genealogy is a little like playing the lottery? Sometimes you win and sometimes you loose. You may have to look into census records and get the kids names that way. You may have to look through indexes in court houses to stumble across them. The records only contain the information that was given at the time the records was made. There is no good answer for your question. Some advise though don't get discourage and don't give up.
