There is a one line death notice for Holloway Kee in a Memphis paper that seems to indicate that it original appeared in the Raleigh Register. The date of the Memphis paper was Aug 9, 1855 with the death listed as July 18, 1855. And now for a few questions: Was the Raleigh Register in fact published then and was it daily, weekly or etc.? Has it been microfilmed? Does anyone know of a way to get a copy by interlibrary loan or something? By chance has the death notices for this time period been index and would someone be so kind as to check it for me? Even better, if someone is actually researching the paper in this time period would be a copy of the obit if it is there. Glad to pay any expenses. I am one of a group of Kee's researching the family. Our information is mainly after their move to Tennessee around 1810 or a little before. I am more than a little surprised to find the reference so late in Wake Co. Perhaps a sister to Holloway stayed in Wake Co.
