    2. I, for reasons to be explained, think residents should notify local councilmen and state representatives that the road, not the old cemetery, should be moved. There are in fact two (2) old cemeteries in question in Raleigh. One at Gresham Lake Rd and Capital Blvd (a Franklin County church agreed to take 20 of the interred) and the other at the intersection of I-540 and Hwy 401. If no relative comes forward, the graves will be documented and relocated. I think when one digs in the earth that deep, unknown contaminants might be dug up. In digging on our property for home addition we disturbed an old/ancient indian campfire - a green vapor emitted, spreading and not settling for hours. For a year the entire family was plagued with respiratory problems. The arrowtips found were not much compensation. Should the state really take the chance that there are no contaminants in the ground in these cemeteries to be release into the air? Only local residents can answer that question.
