    3. I could not find anything about this cemetery in the Wendell History book I got from the library. I did find a 1925 map of Wendell listing an Academy street which intersected Todd Street, but no East Street. Todd street was located between Short and Buffalo street on the west side of town. I have a Wake Co. road atlas, and I see a cemetery labeled Wendell Cemetery in the angle formed by East St. and Academy St. on the west side of Wendell, north of Wendell Park. Would this be it? There are also a number of smaller unnamed cemteries marked in the atlas. I tried looking up both "Wendell Municipal Cemetery" and "Wendell Cemetery" on MapQuest, but it didn't recognize either name. In the Wake Co. Heritage Book the section on William Oscar Todd mentions that he purchased almost 500 acres of land from Gibson Pearce in 1849, some of which now comprises the Wendell Municipal Cemetery. Thanks. 3. Joanne, If it is in the angle formed by East and Academy as you stated then that must be the right one as the other street bounding that is Todd Hill Drive which is likely named after the William Todd you say owned the land. At the far west end of West Academy St. it makes a very sharp right turn to the north and becomes East St. which is only one block long as it becomes Church St. when it crosses Industrial Dr. When all else fails, throw out MapQuest which is full of all kinds of inaccurate junk and not very user friendly and use Google Maps. To see this location see: http://www.google.com/maps?q=East+St,+Wendell,+NC+27591&sa=X&oi=map&ct=title which is what comes up when you search for East St, Wendell, NC on Google maps.
